100 Things

I have seen these lists around on other blogs and thought it might be fun. For the first few items at least...

1. I live in Lee's Summit, MO, a suburb of Kansas City.
2. With my son, Jonah
3. Grew up about 30 miles away, where my family still is.
4. 32 years old, never been married.
5. Got my degree in Ag Business, but am now in a different field, in a job I just happened into.
6. Most of the time I like my job.
7. I am a Christian and try to live as such.
8. Sometimes I blow it completely.
9. I am VERY thankful for the grace of God and His forgiveness.
10. I am a fanatical knitter.
11. I think about yarn, knitting, patterns and projects way more than I should.
12. Jonah loves when I knit him something and takes a sweet interest in my projects.
13. He also often asks me to "stop knitting!"
14. I have battled my weight my whole life.
15. Much of the battle is primarily in my head.
16. I have a very short attention span.
17. I will not likely make it to 100 on this list, at least not in the first attempt.
18. This is already getting old, I'd rather be knitting.
19. I love rain more than sun.
20. Love winter and fall way more than summer and spring!
21. I think I would like to live somewhere colder, that experienced more "weather".
22. LOVE Christmas, and Halloween too, because it's the start of the "season".
23. It annoys me highly when people say "Happy Holidays" just to be politically correct and avoid that XMas word. Although if I knew any Jewish people, I would be happy to wish them a Happy Hanukah!
24. I am a conservative, politics-wise.
25. I am somewhat interested in politics, but not super knowledgeable.
26. I have 3 sisters.
27. One is with the Lord already.
28. I am the oldest.
29. I am more than 1/4 done with this!!
30. I am extremely tight with my money when it comes to some things.
31. Very frivalous with other things. Everyone probably is to some degree though...
32. Hate clowns.
33. Love yarn.
34. I NEED alone time.
35. When I get a free evening, which is rare, I had better first spend time home alone, before I go out and do anything with anyone, or else I will not feel I had a break at all.
36. Love romantic comedies
37. I love sushi so much, but can rarely shell out the dough for it.
38. I have had the same best friend since 5th grade.
39. She lives about 3 hours away and I don't get to see her near enough.
40. We are still able to talk on the phone and make fun of people pretty often.
41. My mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
42. She was only 57 when diagnosed. I know that's not about me, but it has a huge impact, so I think it counts.
43. I pretty much don't date. It's too difficult with a small child and I only get one chance to raise him.
44. I would like to be married someday but would like to skip the dating step. haha.
45. I am tall and have a hard time finding jeans that fit properly and are the right length.
46. Most of the stuff I am saying sounds really dumb.
47. I am kind of OCD. Only on some stuff. Everyone probably is to a degree though, right?
48. My son has some of the same qualities, but not badly enough that I could see him being "diagnosed" with it.
49. I am also a slob in some ways.
50. I hate my house and would like to sell it and buy my 4th house.
51. Selling a house is proving too difficult right now and I think that's not God's plan for me at this time ;o)

53. I get my feelings hurt easily.
54. I am over half done!! did I number incorrectly??
55. I've always wanted to write a novel.
56. I just want to be by myself and knit.
57. I am too high strung.
58. If I could be by myself to knit more, I wouldn't be so high strung.
59. I don't shy away from confrontation when it's necessary (or occasionally when it's not)
60. I can't stay mad at people for nothin'. Even when a little righteous anger is in order.
61. I like needles.
62. I have 3 tattoos and hate 1 of the 3.
63. I want one more (just one, I promise) but can't think of where to put it...
64. I think my son loves his Papa more than me. Again, not exactly about me, but ouch!
65. I like to cook.
66. I once knit my son a porcupine. Worst project ever, but he's proud of it and tells anyone that I chat with about knitting "My mom can even knit a porcupine".
67. I would love to be a stay at home mom (or at least not have to work full time).
68. But since I can't, if I could have any job, I would love to open a yarn store.
69. Would never have the funds to start it, but I'm confident it would do well in my city!
70. People sometimes say I have a "look" on my face, like mad or upset, when I think it's neutral!
71. I miss Jonah!
72. I have no desire "to be a kid again". I don't remember it being all that great the first time.

79. When I get an ear infection every couple of years, my eardrum breaks.
80. I haven't lost hearing that I know of, though one has broke 4 or 5 times.
81. I think my son is a delicious gift and tell him this frequently.
82. I need to grow up. In many ways.
83. I wonder how many of these lines would be totally different, if I wrote them on a different day, in a different mood.
84. Lima beans out of a can are one of my very favorite foods. I know many list them as a least favorite, but I can eat them hot, cold (well that's a stretch), lukewarm, straight out of the can if need be.
85. I recently drug my son to the store at 9:00 pm (on a weekend) because I was craving limas. He wanted to go tho...
86. I recently cut my finger on a tuna can lid and had to get 5 stitches. I feel only I could pull this off to the degree that I did.
87. The dr. that stitched me up was kinda cute and my 5 year old son asked him if he was married. He was not
88. I have been in about 11 wrecks. Most are not my fault, and only one was not-so-minor.
89. I am a Ravelry.com addict.
90. I also love tea. Hot, cold, or lukewarm.
91. When I get stressed, I get heartburn or acid reflux, whatever. I personally think I am too young, seems like an old people thing.
92. Right here, my sister would insert, "But then again, you knit".
93. I don't really have any desire to have any more children.
94. I was in the gifted program in school, beginning in the first grade. I hope that doesn't sound too braggy, because now I don't feel like I am super intelligent or anything...
95. I love celebrity gossip. Reading it is a guilty pleasure.
96. I watch the movie "The Holiday" over and over and over, when I get a chance. I have done that with other chick flicks in the past, but that is my current favorite.
97. I do love tractors. I think they are a lovely specimen to look at.
98. Am doing this "in one sitting".
99. I procrastinate
100. I'm done and kinda glad.

First Post!

I created this blog basically as a knitting blog! I will say upfront I am not a faithful blogger. I used to have a xanga and when my company's security settings no longer let me visit xanga, I must say I was relieved (I can still read friend's posts thru my email)! But, with ravelry, etsy, and reading other knitting blogs, I feel the need to create a one. If nothing else, I can comment on other's blogs rather than just lurking :o)
I work during the day and have a precious 5 year old Jonah at home who does not "let me" knit nearly enough! Can't really blame him for wanting my undivided attention in the evenings tho, after being away from each other all day! So, I have to get a lot of my knitting/yarn fix by knitting on my lunch hour, and drooling over pics of yarn and patterns during the day at work. Odd? Probably. But surely I'm not the only one... !!
Thanks for reading.
